NOTICE OF STREET CLOSURE
Saylor Road just south of Guthrie Avenue will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm Friday, May 18, 2012 for maintenance work on the levee gate closure system across the roadway.
A detour will be posted, using Guthrie Avenue, E 9th Street and Thompson Avenue. Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area and obey all warning signs. If there are questions, contact Chad Christensen, project engineer, at 323-8171.

CITY OF URBANDALE DEPARTMENT OF ENGINEERING AND PUBLIC WORKS
The City of Urbandale will be widening Meredith Drive from 86th Street to NW Urbandale Drive to 5-lanes during the 2012 construction season.
The first phase is starting on Monday April 30, 2012. Meredith will be closed to through traffic during this work. Local traffic will be maintained. Meredith Drive will be completely closed east and west of 104th Street. 104th Street will remain open throughout the construction.
Meredith Drive is scheduled to reopen to two-way traffic (one-lane in each direction) by August 13, 2012. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in November 2012.

Sheridan Avenue from Beaver to 40th Place will be closed between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily beginning Monday, May 14, 2012. This closure is necessary for sanitary sewer repairs at the intersection of Sheridan Avenue and Beaver Avenue.
The project is expected to be completed by Friday, May 18, 2012, barring any additional weather delay.
Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area and obey all construction zone signing.

Grand Avenue between 2nd Avenue and 3rd Street will be closed beginning at 9:00 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 through 6:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012. This closure is necessary to complete the Court Ave/2nd Ave storm sewer project.
A detour route will be posted using 2nd Avenue, Watson Powell Jr. Way and 3rd Street.

NOTICE OF STREET CLOSURE
The Grand Avenue Bridge over Walnut Creek (East of 63rd Street) will be closed beginning at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 for a bridge replacement project. This closure will be in effect for approximately 7 months.
Detour routes will be posted along 42nd Street and 56th Street between Grand Avenue and University Avenue, but traffic is encouraged to find alternate routes, including using I-235.

The 6th Avenue Bridge over the Des Moines River will be reduced to one-lane traffic in each direction beginning at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012 for bridge rehabilitation work. This lane reduction is expected to be in effect until November 2012.

Urbandale Road Construction Update
The City of Urbandale will be widening 128th Street from Hickman Road to Douglas Parkway during the 2012 construction season. The first phase is starting on Monday, April 9, 2012. 128th Street will remain open to through traffic during this work. Cardinal Lane and Wilden Drive at 128th Street will be closed during this work. It is anticipated Cardinal lane and Wilden Drive will reopen in the fall. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in November 2012.

NOTICE OF STREET CLOSURE
Beaver Avenue from Aurora Avenue to Meredith Drive will be closed to through traffic beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012. The closure will be in effect until fall 2012, and is necessary for the Beaver Avenue Construction project, which will reconstruct the roadway to a 3-lane facility. The project is expected to be built over the next two construction seasons.
A detour will be posted using Meredith Drive, Merle Hay Road, and Aurora Avenue. Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in this area, obey all construction zone signing and expect minor delays.
