Avoid the rush and know before you go!

Please be aware of the special street closures in advance of Vice President Xi’s visit to Des Moines. The following streets will be closed from 5:30 - 10 PM on Wednesday, February 15, 2012:
• Grand Avenue, from Pennsylvania Ave. to E. 12th Street.
• Walnut, from E. 12th Street to E. 7th Street
• E. 9th (Finkbine), from Grand Avenue to Walnut
Iowa State Troopers will be on hand to direct traffic near these closed streets. Drivers are encouraged to avoid this area around the State Capitol to ease their evening drive and reduce congestion.
